Film Review: Borrowed Time
“We really wanted to make something that was a little bit more adult in the thematic choices” - Why we made Borrowed Time.
For five years, Andrew Coats and Lou Hamou-Lhadj worked together to create the animated short film ‘Borrowed time’ in their spare time. The result, a moving and touching rendition, exploring the dark depths of guilt and grief.
Borrowed time tells the story of an aged sheriff who revisits the scene of an accident that happened during his childhood. After having tried to suppress the memory of that accident for many years, the sheriff must find the courage to confront the difficult past that he feels he was responsible for.
